MYSA, Inc. is operated solely by volunteers and funded exclusively by registration fees, donations and fundraising activities. We always need new people committed to giving our children a positive athletic experience. Below are the committees for which you can lend your support. There are jobs big and small for those with a great deal or a little time – no softball experience needed for any job.
Fundraising Committee
Team Sponsors - Solicit new and renew corporate sponsors.
Individual Benefactors and Website Sponsors – Contact individuals (by mail) for tax deductible donations.
Merchandise Sales - Coordinates the sale of clothing through our web site.
Identify additional fundraising opportunities.
Equipment & Field Coordinator
Inventory equipment at season end, prepares list of needs, facilitate acquisition of new equipment for next season.
Maintain a supply of equipment & field materials during the season.
Coordinates use between adult leagues and Moorestown Township Recreation Department for field maintenance.
Attend as needed Moorestown Township Recreation meeting on coordination of field space among all users.
Registration Chair
Coordinate online registration.
Facilitate Main Street banner permit and hanging.
Winter Clinic Coordinator
Plan and coordinate off-season clinics including hitting, pitching and general skills.
Coordinate with paid trainers to book for clinics.
Schedule gym space with MTPS and Recreation Department.
Enlist the help of coaches and parent volunteers for winter clinic.
Coaches
Schedule practices.
Instruct players on the basic rules of softball.
Instill sportsmanship in each player.
Communicate with parents the mission of MYSA.
Attend monthly Board Meetings, as requested.
Complete player evaluations at the end of the season.
Travel / Tournament Team Coordinator
Organizes & schedules the travel tryout days and drafts rating sheet.
Coordinate ordering of uniforms with Uniform Coordinator.
Schedule team’s practice & game schedules.
Attend all Travel / Tournament meetings.
League Coordinators / Commissioners
Organize all teams within a specific age group.
Coordinates & distributes information from the Board to the coaches.
Review the league rules & procedures with all coaches.
Sets up yearly practice & game schedule.
Attend monthly Board meetings, as requested.
Ensure Jobox is stocked appropriately for your age group and assist in replenishing any supplies needed. A list of the appropriate equipment will be provided to each coordinator.
Uniform Chair
Coordinates uniform orders by team and works with local suppliers to provide a high quality uniform at a reasonable price.
Coordinate distribution to teams.
Coordinate with Travel / Tournament Coordinator.
Umpire Coordinator
Schedule paid youth umpires as required.
Facilitate training as needed.
Set up on-line game evaluation forms.
Pictures Committee
Contact photographer and schedule picture day for all teams.
Distribute photographs to the leagues through the League Coordinators.
Post league pictures on the MYSA website.
Coordinate with Opening Day Committee.
Website / Social Media Chair
Serve as point person to gather information and post on the league site.
Submit notices and articles about registration, spring training, weekly game results and other events to the local newspapers.
Opening Day Committee
Plan & coordinate Opening Day ceremonies.
Coordinate food vendors.
Coordinate with several MYSA committees to promote event.
Coordinate with Pictures Coordinator.
Fall Softball League Coordinator
Coordinate the fall league game schedule.
Attend league-schedule meeting.
Coordinate uniforms.
Scholarship Committee
Set up rules & procedures to award scholarship money to graduating seniors who have played softball in the MYSA and are currently playing at the high school level.
Rules Committee
Review the league rules each year and make recommendations when needed.
